Video #8 of the ROSE Cottage Project – showing the sustainable recycling of the project’s topsoil into loam and common fill. The loam will be reused within the project for lawn, garden and landscaping bed area construction. The common fill will be used outside of foundation areas to build up our final grades. Our RCM (ROSE Construction Method) zero net energy home project is situated on an 8.86 acre parcel on the shore of Turtle Pond in Concord, NH with 6.74 acres in conservation easement.
Progress video of Lot Clearing (85%) and Driveway Construction (5%), taken on 10-31-10, for the ROSE Cottage Project. 8.86 acre parcel on the shore of Turtle Pond in Concord, NH
ROSE Cottage Project – Video #7 – Dock Location and 360 deg Pond View from (future) Dock. A sneak peak from pond (ice) view of the house and dock locations before construction
ROSE Cottage Project- Video #10 – Geothermal Ground Loop Prep. The lower level concrete slab will be constructed over a 12″ layer of sand and R20 insulation. The sand layer will have both a solar thermal heating loop and a geo-exhange loop which work together as a “hybrid” system (E-max™ Hybrid) for high efficiency geothermal heating. Our RCM (ROSE Construction Method) zero net energy home project is situated on an 8.86 acre parcel on the shore of Turtle Pond in Concord, NH with 6.74 acres in conservation easement.
ROSE Cottage Project- Video #9 – Using Large Stone. We used large stone from on site to create a retaining and slope stabilization ‘wall” on the north side of the ROSE Cottage. Recycling on site material saves money and is a sustainable way to put available material to the highest and best use. At the toe of slope we used wood chips to form our erosion control barrier—the chips we made on site from low grade wood species during the lot clearing operation.
