A video showing the final part of the 7-day quest called “DIY Homes: Lovey-Dovey Balcony”. Staring on the 6th of May, you have to be at level 17 to get this quest and you can start at any time by tapping on the bubble above a woman wearing a construction outfit in the Community Center to initiate the quest. If you have not build the Community Center, you may not be able to do the quest. If you finish the quest within 7 days, you can unlock some new planters and privacy screens to be put in your houses. Otherwise, finishing the quest allows you to build balconies ($6000 minimum for 2×1) at any home with a 2nd or 3rd floor. Again, once you start the quest, you have to see it to completion, so don’t tap on the bubble if you’re going to be busy or have no internet in a week.

Here’s the link to all the tasks for this quest:

I put “Part 2” in this video and “Part 1” in my other video mainly because the titles are too long to read so I thought this is the easiest thing to identify. I purposely put it at the top because I find the simoleon, LP and SP counts are too distracting at times and you only need to see how much simoleons, LP and SP I have at the beginning and at the end of the quest anyway.

As you can tell, the Balcony quest is longer than the Patio quest but it’s the most interesting. In the first part of the quest, you’ll have two Sims act lovey-dovey towards each other in the DIY Model House. In this part of the quest, your Sims get to interact with the Grim Reaper. The Grim Reaper will stay in the DIY Model House (unless you decide to kill off your seniors) but it’s hard to find the Grim Reaper if you zoom in like I did here.

Again, the rewards for completing this quest within 7 days are planters and privacy screens. The outdoor ones come in shades of brown, gray, black and white and can be bought in the outdoor decorations tab of the Home Store. There is a “Lime Privacy Screen” but it can only be used indoors and costs 6 SP. They are found in the home decoration tab.

After you finish this quest, you are able to create balconies on 2nd and 3rd floors. If your Sims are currently in a house without 2nd floor, you’ll get a prompt that says “Not enough floors” and tell you to go to a house with a 2nd floor. The balconies can be built out to three squares past a building and take up floor space of a building. If you have two buildings with 6 squares between them, you can create a balcony to connect those building together to act as walkways or bridges.

The balconies come with balcony paving, supports and railings:
1. Just like the pool and patio, you will have to build a balcony first with the default paving. When the price comes up while building a balcony, you have to tab to accept it so the balcony is completely built. Then you can tab on the paving you want to change to and another price will come up and you’ll need to accept that too and the paving will then be changed. So you basically have to pay twice if you want something other than the default paving. Make sure you save first so if you don’t like the way it looks you can reset and start over.
2. Supports can only be used for balconies on 2nd floors and have to have 4 clear squares on the ground below the balconies in order to be attached to the balconies.
3. Railings for the balcony is in the same category in the Home Store as the railings for the patio.

I do not own anything in this video, except for the characters. Any similarities or representations of those characters are merely coincidental. Bree, Grim Reaper and the Sims FreePlay are owned by Electronic Arts.
