Assessing prefab homes for Haiti With Haiti’s rainy season just around the corner, Tzu Chi volunteers have been handing out waterproof tarpaulin sheets to residents, to help shelter them from the weather. Currently, Tzu Chi is looking into the possibility of erecting prefabricated homes, that will last 10-15 years. On Tuesday afternoon, builders arrived at Tzu Chi’s central office, at the Hualien Abode in Taiwan, to put up a home. Master Cheng Yen came to see the materials for herself.
